VARING Security Group was founded in Stockholm 2025
The idea for VARING Security Group came from identifying the need for a security partner that delivers the professional, reliable client focused services we saw our clients requested. A company that had the same values and reliability as the individual operatives in the field. The ambition to be a trusted partner that ensures the security.

We also saw the need for ensuring quality and personal traits in whom ever represented the company. By providing courses and trainings we aim to ensure that all operatives delivers and ensures the values that the company stands for

Varing
The name Varing comes from the Scandinavian warriors (Väringar; eng; Varangian) who during the Viking Age served as personal guard for the Byzantine emperor in Constantinople
The word Väring means; "sworn" in Nordic tongue and is a Nordic term for the Scandinavian warriors, predominately Swedish, who from the 9th century to the 12th century served the Byzantine emperor in, the Varangian guard. They were used as the emperor's personal guard, but also went to war.
These men quickly rose to prominence due to their skill in battle. The history of the varangians is very interesting, from their humble beginnings as mercenaries to their status as the emperor's personal bodyguard of elite warriors.

Founder
The company was founded by Michael Borgqvist.
Mikael has an extensive experience from working as a close protection officer on the international scene. He is a certified instructor and has worked with Anti- terror units in London, VIP protection in the middle east.
Mikael also has several years of experience from personal protection of VIP´´s from international entertainers and business executives as well as acting as adviser and local coordinator for larger security teams.
Prior to working in the security industry, Mikael played as a professional fotball player in the highest level in Sweden. After the active carrier he worked as the head coach for on of the top clubs i Sweden.
